Maintenance Guide (FOOTWEAR)
Handle With Care: Maintenance Guide
Your sneakers are now a statement piece. To keep that elevated streetwear finish looking fresh, follow these guidelines.
1. The Laces (Rope Care)
-
Spot Clean Only: Avoid throwing the entire shoe in the washing machine. If the rope laces get dirty, use a soft toothbrush and a mild sneaker cleaner (or warm soapy water) to gently scrub the affected area.
-
No Soaking: Do not submerge the laces in water for long periods, as this can affect the density and "chunkiness" of the rope fibre.
-
Mind the Aglets: Be gentle with the lace tips (aglets) to ensure they stay secure within the custom-drilled eyelets.
2. The Sneakers
-
Wipe Down: Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe the leather or suede panels of your footwear after wear.
-
Brush: For suede or nubuck pairs, use a dedicated suede brush to keep the nap looking soft and premium.
3. Storage & Longevity
-
Avoid Excessive Heat: Keep your customs away from direct sunlight or radiators for extended periods, as high heat can affect the adhesives and the integrity of the rope fibres.
-
Shape Retention: We recommend using shoe trees or stuffing the toes with paper when not in use to maintain the silhouette, especially since the oversized laces add extra weight to the upper.
4. Pro-Tips for Longevity
-
Rotation is Key: To keep your customs in "deadstock" condition for longer, avoid wearing them in heavy rain or muddy conditions.
-
The "Statement" Look: If the rope laces become fuzzy over time, you can carefully use a fabric shaver or a lighter (briefly and at a distance) to singe off any loose micro-fibres.
